Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Political Game 3 by Ephrem Solomon was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,901.67). Admittedly, works by Ephrem Solomon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silence Series, 2017 in March last year with an auction result of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 15,116.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Political Game 3 von Ephrem Solomon im März 2019 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.901,67) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ephrem Solomon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silence Series, 2017 im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 15.116,56).
