Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ephrem Solomon could be acquired at Sothebys in London in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Ethiopianuntitled, Portrait Series changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,984.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ephrem Solomon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Silence Series, 2017, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 12,750.00 (€ 15,116.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ephrem Solomon konnte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Ethiopianuntitled, Portrait Series für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.984,94) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ephrem Solomon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Silence Series, 2017 beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 12.750,00 (€ 15.116,56) versteigert wurde.
