Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script by Emperor Tongzhi was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. The price achieved of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 10,766.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emperor Tongzhi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphic Couplet in Standard Script, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 32,776.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script von Emperor Tongzhi wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 10.766,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Emperor Tongzhi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Standard Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 300.000,00 (€ 32.776,35) versteigert wurde.
