Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Birds of Paradise by Emmanuel L. Cordova was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 19,120.00 (€ 1,926.10). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emmanuel L. Cordova - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Their Highness, which sold at auction in April 2008 for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 5,150.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Birds of Paradise von Emmanuel L. Cordova im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 19.120,00 (€ 1.926,10) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Emmanuel L. Cordova mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Their Highness beobachtet, die im April 2008 für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 5.150,79) versteigert wurde.
