The work Italian piazza San Giovanni, Venice by Emma Ciardi was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in December 2015. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,335.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emma Ciardi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grand Fête On The Grand Canal in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 76,165.24).
