Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Schoolboys From Anglet by Emilie Mundt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,313.00 (€ 4,062.24). Other works by Emilie Mundt have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October this year by the work To drenge på stranden i Skagen at DKK 50,000.00 (€ 6,699.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Schoolboys From Anglet von Emilie Mundt im Februar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.313,00 (€ 4.062,24) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Emilie Mundt wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres die Arbeit To drenge på stranden i Skagen mit DKK 50.000,00 (€ 6.699,47).
