Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work French Son Petit Chaton by Émile Vernon for GBP 39,650.00 (€ 47,939.83). This price was achieved in the auction European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Émile Vernon have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2002 by the work Best of Friends at USD 89,625.00 (€ 90,704.38).

Im November 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit French Son Petit Chaton von Émile Vernon für GBP 39.650,00 (€ 47.939,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Émile Vernon wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2002 die Arbeit Best of Friends mit USD 89.625,00 (€ 90.704,38).
