Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work French fille A La Rose Jaune by Émile Vernon for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Émile Vernon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Best of Friends in October 2002 with an auction result of USD 89,625.00 (€ 90,704.38).
