In May 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work French A Painting Cardinal by Émile Meyer. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,662.76), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Émile Meyer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The riding school, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 44,146.00).

Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit French A Painting Cardinal von Émile Meyer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.662,76) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Émile Meyer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The riding school beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 44.146,00) versteigert wurde.
