In June 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Ships On A Calm by Emanuel de Vries. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,280.00 52% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emanuel de Vries; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ships On A Calm River Near A Shipyard sold at auction in May 2013 with the realized price of EUR 2,500.00.

Im Juni 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ships On A Calm von Emanuel de Vries zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.280,00 und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emanuel de Vries; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ships On A Calm River Near A Shipyard im Mai 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 2.500,00.
