Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Resting tiger; Lioness watching; and Tiger washing by Elsie Henderson was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 191.20 (€ 288.95). Admittedly, works by Elsie Henderson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Watercolors, Including Tigers, A Lion, Frogs And Swans in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,680.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Resting tiger; Lioness watching; and Tiger washing von Elsie Henderson im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 191,20 (€ 288,95) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elsie Henderson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Four Watercolors, Including Tigers, A Lion, Frogs And Swans im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.680,86).
