Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Elsie Henderson could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work Panther on a branch (illustrated); Startled tiger; and Jaguar on a branch changed hands for GBP 262.90 (€ 397.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Elsie Henderson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Watercolors, Including Tigers, A Lion, Frogs And Swans in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,680.86).
