Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2003 Christies in London held the auction At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper, which included the work In the midst of a melée by Elmar von Eschwege. The price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 772.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elmar von Eschwege achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Emperor Frederick III and Princess Victoria on the way to Potsdam in January last year with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 56,189.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit In the midst of a melée von Elmar von Eschwege zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 772,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elmar von Eschwege erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Emperor Frederick III and Princess Victoria on the way to Potsdam im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 56.189,80).
