A top price for Elmar von Eschwege - as previously expected
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The European Art Sale Part I, which included the work Emperor Frederick III and Princess Victoria on the way to Potsdam by Elmar von Eschwege. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 56,189.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Emperor Frederick III and Princess Victoria on the way to Potsdam is the most expensive artwork by Elmar von Eschwege that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The European Art Sale Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Emperor Frederick III and Princess Victoria on the way to Potsdam von Elmar von Eschwege zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 56.189,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Emperor Frederick III and Princess Victoria on the way to Potsdam das teuerste Kunstwerk von Elmar von Eschwege, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
