In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Peter Langan: A Life with Art, which included the work Filey, a day at the beach by Ellis Silas. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,695.76), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ellis Silas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Docked boats, Venice, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,554.66).

Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Peter Langan: A Life with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Filey, a day at the beach von Ellis Silas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.695,76) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ellis Silas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Docked boats, Venice beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.554,66) versteigert wurde.
