Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Trobriand Dance at Night; and A Village at Night by Ellis Silas was sold in the Travel and Natural History including Modern Australian auction at Christies in London in April 2005. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 888.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Ellis Silas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Docked boats, Venice in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,554.66).

Die Arbeit A Trobriand Dance at Night; and A Village at Night von Ellis Silas wurde im April 2005 in der Auktion Travel and Natural History including Modern Australian bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 888,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ellis Silas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Docked boats, Venice im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.554,66).
