Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Inuit Mother and Child by Ellen Henne Goodale was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 510.00 (€ 481.04). Admittedly, works by Ellen Henne Goodale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alaskan Landscape in February this year with an auction result of USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,645.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Inuit Mother and Child von Ellen Henne Goodale im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 510,00 (€ 481,04) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ellen Henne Goodale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alaskan Landscape im Februar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.645,73).
