Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work On Lago Maggiore by Ella Mary du Cane. It changed hands for a price of GBP 180.00 (€ 264.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 100.00 – 200.00. Admittedly, works by Ella Mary du Cane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A geisha girl in an oriental garden in October 2001 with an auction result of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,139.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit On Lago Maggiore von Ella Mary du Cane zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 180,00 (€ 264,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100,00 – 200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ella Mary du Cane auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A geisha girl in an oriental garden im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 705,00 (€ 1.139,38).
