Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pink and yellow roses in a copper bowl by Elizabeth Whitehead was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 235.00 (€ 306.19). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Whitehead - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Variegated dahlias in a glass vase, on a table, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 420.00 (€ 618.06).
