Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work American By The Seaside by Elizabeth Jane Gardner Bouguereau for USD 28,750.00 (€ 23,114.65). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elizabeth Jane Gardner Bouguereau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American La Captive in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 591,000.00 (€ 519,377.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
