In July 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Legacy by Elizabeth Catlett. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,075.00 (€ 29,790.22), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Catlett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman Fixing Her Hair, which sold at auction in April 2014 for USD 149,000.00 (€ 107,426.10).

Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Legacy von Elizabeth Catlett zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.075,00 (€ 29.790,22) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Catlett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman Fixing Her Hair beobachtet, die im April 2014 für USD 149.000,00 (€ 107.426,10) versteigert wurde.
