Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in London held the auction A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection, which included the work Halafinet 2 by Elias Sime. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,165.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Elias Sime have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tightrope: Contrast in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 138,600.00 (€ 162,819.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Halafinet 2 von Elias Sime zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.760,00 (€ 38.165,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elias Sime auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tightrope: Contrast im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.600,00 (€ 162.819,30).
