Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Hairdresser by Elias Jengo was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction auction at Sothebys in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,987.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Elias Jengo have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2020 the work Wakulima (The Farmers) was auctioned for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,928.33).
