Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Verticalidad V by Elian Chali was sold in the Contemporary Art Online | London auction at Sothebys in London in August 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,245.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elian Chali - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Verticalidad Iv, which sold at auction in December 2017 for HKD 30,000.00 (€ 3,194.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Verticalidad V von Elian Chali wurde im August 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | London bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.245,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Elian Chali mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Verticalidad Iv beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für HKD 30.000,00 (€ 3.194,14) versteigert wurde.
