The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,125.00 (€ 15,322.09), 64% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Elena Luksch-Makovsky; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Repin'S Students, St. Petersburg, Somov, Kustodiev, Murashko, Maliavin And Chmarov sold at auction in June 2008 with the realized price of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,120.59).

Die Arbeit Twelve Designs For A Book Of Russian Proverbs With Cover von Elena Luksch-Makovsky wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Russian Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.125,00 (€ 15.322,09) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
