A top price for Elena Luksch-Makovsky - as previously expected
The work Repin'S Students, St. Petersburg, Somov, Kustodiev, Murashko, Maliavin And Chmarov by Elena Luksch-Makovsky was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,120.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Repin'S Students, St. Petersburg, Somov, Kustodiev, Murashko, Maliavin And Chmarov is the most expensive artwork by Elena Luksch-Makovsky that we have observed at auctions so far.
