Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Pima Indian Home (Sacaton, Arizona) by Elbridge Ayer Burbank for USD 896.00 (€ 821.42). This price was achieved in the auction Western Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elbridge Ayer Burbank - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chief Two Moons, North Cheyenne, which sold at auction in July 2002 for USD 1,673.00 (€ 1,707.84).
