Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australia by Eileen Rosemary Mayo was sold in the The Art of Travel auction at Christies in London in June 2014. The price achieved of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,718.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eileen Rosemary Mayo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australia, The Great Barrier Reef, which sold at auction in June 2014 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,934.90).
