Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Onlokers by Eileen Cooper was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,400.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eileen Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Conversation, which sold at auction in April last year for GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,321.37).

Die Arbeit The Onlokers von Eileen Cooper kam im September 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.400,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Eileen Cooper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Conversation beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.321,37) versteigert wurde.
