Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work The Forrester by Eileen Agar was worth GBP 30,240.00 (€ 34,403.84) to a buyer in March this year. This price was achieved in the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Eileen Agar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Taking Aim in April this year with an auction result of HKD 176,400.00 (€ 180,138.91).

Die Arbeit The Forrester von Eileen Agar war einem Käufer im März diesen Jahres GBP 30.240,00 (€ 34.403,84) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eileen Agar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Taking Aim im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 176.400,00 (€ 180.138,91).
