A top price for Egidius Linnig - as previously expected
The work Shipping on a calm by Egidius Linnig was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2005. The price achieved of EUR 12,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Shipping on a calm is the most expensive artwork by Egidius Linnig that we have observed at auctions so far.
