This price was achieved in the auction The French Touch: Hommage à Alain et Catherine Bernard at Sothebys in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 600.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Eero Saarinen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eight `Tulip' Side Chairs From The `Pedestal' Collection in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,795.73).
