Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work The soldier's farewell by Edwin Thomas Roberts. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,540.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Thomas Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Rule Britannia! A Merry Crew" in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 28,680.00 (€ 44,911.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The soldier's farewell von Edwin Thomas Roberts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.540,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Thomas Roberts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Rule Britannia! A Merry Crew" im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.680,00 (€ 44.911,40).
