Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Canine companions by Edwin Steele for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,544.84). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art and Dogs at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Edwin Steele have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2002 by the work Still Life of grapes, peaches and a pineapple in an ewer on a ledge surounded by other fruit at GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,711.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Canine companions von Edwin Steele für GBP 998,75 (€ 1.544,84) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Andere Arbeiten von Edwin Steele wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2002 die Arbeit Still Life of grapes, peaches and a pineapple in an ewer on a ledge surounded by other fruit mit GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.711,01).
