Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edwin Headley Holgate could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Man With Axe changed hands for CAD 5,700.00 (€ 4,092.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Headley Holgate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Leaves in November 2012 with an auction result of CAD 106,000.00 (€ 82,037.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edwin Headley Holgate konnte im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wechselte die Arbeit Man With Axe für CAD 5.700,00 (€ 4.092,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Headley Holgate erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumn Leaves im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 106.000,00 (€ 82.037,97).
