Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work Portrait of a lady, seated three-quarter-length, in a white blouse with lace trim, a terrier to her side by Edwin Douglas. The price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 633.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Douglas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Favourite Story, A Gordon Setter And A Jack-Russell in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 76,314.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, seated three-quarter-length, in a white blouse with lace trim, a terrier to her side von Edwin Douglas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 633,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Douglas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Favourite Story, A Gordon Setter And A Jack-Russell im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 76.314,81).
