This artwork by Edward Train achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2002. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction, the work Figures in a Highland landscape; Boating on a loch; and Figures on the banks of a loch sold for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,073.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. This high result makes Figures in a Highland landscape; Boating on a loch; and Figures on the banks of a loch the most expensive artwork by Edward Train that we have observed at auctions so far.
