Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Life Mask of Abraham Lincoln, New York by Edward Steichen for USD 255.00 (€ 239.35). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Steichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flatiron in November last year with an auction result of USD 11,840,000.00 (€ 11,469,534.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Life Mask of Abraham Lincoln, New York von Edward Steichen für USD 255,00 (€ 239,35) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Steichen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Flatiron im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.840.000,00 (€ 11.469.534,05).
