This artwork by Edward Roper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. In the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction, the work English Aboriginal Corroboree sold for AUD 31,200.00 (€ 18,656.87) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Roper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Goldfields Of Australia, Ararat, which sold at auction in February 2019 for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,912.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Roper erzielte im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works wurde die Arbeit English Aboriginal Corroboree für AUD 31.200,00 (€ 18.656,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Roper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Goldfields Of Australia, Ararat beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.912,38) versteigert wurde.
