Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Admiring The Newborn by Edward Portielje. The price achieved of EUR 26,290.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 22,000.00 – 28,000.00. Other works by Edward Portielje have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2006 the work A beautiful smile was auctioned for EUR 36,000.00.

Im April 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Admiring The Newborn von Edward Portielje zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 26.290,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 22.000,00 – 28.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Edward Portielje konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2006 die Arbeit A beautiful smile für EUR 36.000,00 versteigert.
