Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Belgian The Winning Hand by Edward Portielje for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,041.83). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Edward Portielje have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A beautiful smile in April 2006 with an auction result of EUR 36,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Belgian The Winning Hand von Edward Portielje für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.041,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Portielje auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A beautiful smile im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 36.000,00.
