Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Harper'S Bazaar: Three Plates by Edward Penfield for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,581.68). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Penfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Automobile Number, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,261.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Harper'S Bazaar: Three Plates von Edward Penfield für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.581,68) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Penfield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Automobile Number beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.261,36) versteigert wurde.
