Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Melody - 1990 by Edward Mapplethorpe was sold in the Photography Collection of Amedeo M. Turello auction at Artcurial in October 2015. The price achieved of EUR 3,640.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Mapplethorpe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Untitled (Melody)', 1988 in May 2016 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,835.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Melody - 1990 von Edward Mapplethorpe wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Photography Collection of Amedeo M. Turello bei Artcurial versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.640,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Mapplethorpe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Untitled (Melody)', 1988 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.835,65).
