Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four vignette studies of birds - a pair of parrots, a flamingo, an avocet and a merganser by Edward Lear was auctioned at Christies in London in December this year. The price achieved of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,515.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Lear achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kasr-es-Saiyyad in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 938,400.00 (€ 1,392,538.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four vignette studies of birds - a pair of parrots, a flamingo, an avocet and a merganser von Edward Lear kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
