Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Crofter'S Daughter by Edward John Cobbett. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,903.71) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward John Cobbett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A wreath of wild flowers, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 7,872.50 (€ 12,328.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Crofter'S Daughter von Edward John Cobbett zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.903,71) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward John Cobbett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A wreath of wild flowers beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für GBP 7.872,50 (€ 12.328,44) versteigert wurde.
