Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work "Sweet Hearts, We Shall Be Rich Ere We Depart, If Fairings Come This Plentifully In: A Lady Wall'D About With Diamonds! Look You What I Have From The Loving King" William Shakespeare, Loves Labour'S Lost, Act 5 Scene 2 by Edward John Cobbett. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,398.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Edward John Cobbett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A wreath of wild flowers in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 7,872.50 (€ 12,328.44).
