Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Blending of the Races by Edward Fraughton was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,062.50 (€ 933.74). Admittedly, works by Edward Fraughton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Last Arrow in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,140.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Blending of the Races von Edward Fraughton im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.062,50 (€ 933,74) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Fraughton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Last Arrow im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.140,35).
