The work The Return of The Discovery by Edward Frank Gillet was sold in the Exploration and Travel with The Polar Sale auction at Christies in London in September 2004. The price achieved of GBP 418.25 (€ 609.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 350.00 – 450.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Return of The Discovery is the most expensive artwork by Edward Frank Gillet that we have observed at auctions so far.
