Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Frank Gillet could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work The final furlong changed hands for GBP 144.00 (€ 210.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Frank Gillet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Return of The Discovery, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 418.25 (€ 609.34).
