Sold at the upper estimate price

In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Moonlight: ships that pass in the night by Edward Duncan. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,676.02), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Duncan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tantallon Castle, Coast of Haddingtonshire in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 15,275.00 (€ 26,109.34).
